SQ-2 OSR tiles are engineered with semi-flexible, ceria-doped borosilicate glass to provide uncompromising thermal control for the most demanding mission environments. As the best alternative to Silver Teflon tapes, these tiles are specifically designed to withstand the intense conditions of MEO, GEO, and other high-radiation orbits.
Unlike polymeric flexible OSRs, the ceria-doped glass stack offers exceptional resistance against ultraviolet radiation (UV) and atomic oxygen (AO) fluences. This ensures long-term thermo-optical and mechanical stability without the risk of darkening or delamination typical of Silver Teflon and Aluminized Mylar tapes.
Integration is streamlined through full compatibility with industry-standard adhesives, including 3M 966 PSA, 3M 9703 PSA, and space-grade silicone epoxies. This versatility makes SQ-2 tiles easy to apply to flat radiator surfaces.
