SQUID3 Space was founded in Southern California in 2023 with a mission to develop and manufacture high-quality thermal control materials for spacecraft. Our founders — a group of aerospace and materials engineers — were frustrated by the limited material options and suppliers available to satellite designers and knew they could do better.

The first two years were spent entirely in the R&D lab, operating out of the nanofabrication facilities at USC and UCLA. Long nights were devoted to developing sample materials, refining coating processes, and running environmental qualification testing. Out of that work came something harder to buy than any single product: the process knowledge required to produce highly consistent optical films within a closed-loop feedback system.

Today, that foundation is what sets our materials apart — and what lets us support missions where quality, traceability, and on-time delivery aren't optional.
