SQUID3 Space was founded in Southern California in 2023 with a mission to develop and manufacture high-quality thermal control materials for space. Our founders — a group of aerospace and materials engineers from DuPont, NASA JPL, and Terran Orbital — were frustrated by the limited material options and supplier base available to satellite integrators and knew they could do better.​

The first two years were spent entirely in the R&D lab, operating out of the nanofabrication facilities at USC and UCLA. Long nights were devoted to developing sample materials, refining coating processes, and running environmental qualification testing.

Today, that foundation is what sets our materials apart and enables us to support programs where quality, traceability, and on-time delivery are mission-critical requirements — not optional.
