Los Angeles, CA – Silver Teflon tape, also known as flexible optical solar reflectors, is currently one of the most in-demand thermal control products for low Earth orbit (LEO) missions and satellite constellations. SQUID3 Space—a distributor, designer, and solutions provider specializing in spacecraft thermal control—has successfully fabricated and delivered its first roll of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO)-coated Silver Teflon (AgFEP) tape to a small satellite manufacturer operating in LEO. This delivery represents a significant milestone for the company as it strengthens its position as a trusted supplier of advanced materials for the space and defense industries.

SQUID3 prepared rolls of Teflon FEP film (24" x 108 ft) and deposited them with ultra-thin layers of reflective silver and conductive coatings inside a precision-controlled vacuum chamber. Following fabrication, the Silver Teflon tapes were cut to widths of 1", 2", 4", and 12" as per the customer's requirements.
“The space industry is experiencing a significant supply chain challenge, particularly in the availability of high-quality, spaceflight-ready materials,” said Warren Su, CEO of SQUID3 Space. “This latest delivery showcases our ability to produce such materials at affordable cost and within schedule.”
