The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has published SQUID3 Space's patent application titled “System and Method for Reconfigurable Thermal Control in Spacecraft” (U.S. Patent Application Publication No. US 2025/0376273 A1)

The published application covers a software-reconfigurable spacecraft thermal control system capable of dynamically switching between high and low absorptance-to-emittance (α/ε) states to regulate spacecraft thermal loads across changing mission and orbital conditions. The system enables on-orbit thermal reconfiguration through electrically addressable, multilayer radiator assemblies integrated with spacecraft avionics.

The technology is designed to support small satellites and responsive space missions where mass, power, and operational adaptability are critical.
