Baltimore, MD – SQUID3 Space came out on top at several pitch competitions at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) last week, securing a total of $25,000 in prize awards. The team's drive for innovation in the space industry was recognized at multiple events, including:
Grand Prize ($17k) at the Pava Center Fuel Accelerator Demo Day
First Place Prize ($5k) at HopStart: Hopkins New Venture Challenge
HopStone Prize ($3k) at Carey Business School Student Venture Showcase
The funds will be utilized to advance the spaceflight readiness of 𝛼STRID™ — SQUID3's flagship thermal control tape for next generation of spacecraft. 𝛼STRID™ is currently undergoing several critical environmental tests, including ASTM E595 Outgassing and Thermal Vacuum Cycling, to ensure its performance and reliability in space. 𝛼STRID™ is scheduled to be space-qualified by June, with samples soon to be delivered to several customers.
